How to develop Spiritual Grit: Most of us are familiar with mental and physical Grit and how to build resilience in these areas. In this blog, I will share about spiritual Grit and two spiritual practices that can help you with your relationship with God, especially during a dark season in life.
None of us are ever going to be immune to facing challenging situations. Whether it is problems at your workplace, difficulties in your marriage, issues with your child being off course, or problems with your health, several life circumstances can steal our joy and enthusiasm.
It is during these times, more than ever we need to be especially mindful of holding on to the 2 Ts.
- Trust
- Thankfulness.
Trust helps you understand that God is in control of your life and the lives of your loved ones. Yes, you need to do your best in every situation, but God brings us through the fiery conditions of our lives without the smell of smoke. What do I mean by that?
As I had mentioned earlier, none of us are immune to challenges and difficulties, but those who place their hope and trust in God weather the storms of life a whole lot better because the stress and strain of having to go through difficulties in your strength and effort are replaced by the grace and supernatural provisions that only God can provide.
Thankfulness opens your eyes to all you must be grateful for and prevents you from complaining and being overly critical of your circumstances and the people around you. To develop these spiritual attributes, one must establish a close relationship with God, realize He is trustworthy, and recognize how much of His goodness you already enjoy in your life that gives you a reason to stay grateful even in the darkest seasons.
